Attorney Profiles

Ms. Oshiro currently practices in the areas of attorney malpractice, business and insurance litigation. She is licensed to practice law in both California and Hawaii, and has been practicing law in California for 15 years.

Ms. Oshiro was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. After attending the local parochial and public schools in Honolulu, she attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa for a year. Ms. Oshiro then put her upper education on hold to enter the working world. For a number of years thereafter, she worked in the restaurant industry and sold real estate. In the mid 1980s, while still working full time, Ms. Oshiro decided to return to the University of Hawaii to finish her undergraduate education. She obtained a B.A. in political science in 1987. During this "return to education" process, she made the decision to embark on a legal career. This took her to a brief, but fulfilling experience by working in the Hawaii state legislature for the 1988 session where she served as clerk for the State Senate Consumer Protection Committee.

Ms. Oshiro left her beloved island home to attend law school at Santa Clara University in the fall of 1988, where she made the dean's list each year until graduating in 1991. During law school, Ms. Oshiro was an active member of the Asian Pacific law students association and tutored tort law to first year students. She recently served as co-committee chair for the school's 15 year law school reunion activities.

After passing the California State Bar in 1991 and the Hawaii State Bar in 1992, Ms. Oshiro began the first five years of her legal career working for solo practitioners doing plaintiff's work, primarily in area of personal injury. She then spent an equal amount of time in the defense arena. Prior to joining the Willoughby, Stuart & Bening team in 2001, Ms.Oshiro had been with the Clapp, Moroney, Bellagamba firm in Menlo Park and San Jose. Her life experiences, coupled with of working in both the plaintiff and defense arena well rounds and complements her current practice in insurance and business litigation.

Ms. Oshiro has fallen in love with her second and permanent home here in the bay area. She is proud to be part of the Willoughby, Stuart & Bening firm, a firm consisting of the best and brightest California has in its legal community.

Ms. Oshiro is a wine lover, with a specific passion for well aged red wines. She also is an avid reader of World War II military history.
